check out
www.adslguide.org
- they have decent reviews on providers and you can compare services there.
I think the 2mb Sky broadband is active, but not the 10mb one - not 100% sure though.
There seems to be a lot of bad reviews on Sky Broadband but I would expect it's just teething problems. I think if you are only after a low usage (for poker and general surfing) then you can't really go far wrong with free broadband (if you are on Sky TV) but if you want the faster services and are asking something of your broadband, then it may be worth looking elsewhere or waiting.
I'm on NTL at home and Demon at work and I've never really had any problems with either. Both companies have good tech support for when you do get the odd thing. Can't complain with either.
Happy housemoving

grrrr...don't get NTL..they are evil.
I am taking up BT next week (moving this friday and unless one of my new neighbours has an un-secured wireless connection I won't have any BB for a week
) they can get you BB within 5 days of your move (which is pretty fast) and I am reading loads of good reviews about their BB (we all know their customer service is terrible..but I don't need those guys if the BB itsself is fine)

I'm currently with Bulldog and have had an excellent service so far, I've not needed to contact customer service so I can't give an opinion on that area but the Broadband itself has been unfaultable (8Mb+ and it hasn't dropped once yet) They also provide me a great value phone package (local and national calls + 8Mb unlimited BB for £30)
Before Bulldog I was with Tiscali and also had no problems, the only reason I changed was to get the 8Mb package which they didn't offer.

is that £30 + the cost of a BT line?

No, there is no BT line cost as everything goes through Bulldog, they are the
complete
service provider.

lol a couple of years ago (really just 3) everyone would have been happy with 2 meg.
unless you download tremendous amounts of stuff or you like to bet horses in running in 5 furlong sprints..2 meg is fine for most people.

3 years ago most people couldn't even get 2Mb! If you are mainly using it for browsing the web and poker you wouldn't even notice a difference. I think when I moved here Bulldog said I would get 2Mb+, but it's well over 8 instead. I'm not going to complain......

No idea tbh Boldie, I've not received anything to say as such. But, that doesn't mean that they haven't lol.

NO, Bulldog is now owned by Pipex.
I have been with Bulldog for 2 years now, cant fault the service - I think it has only been down once (for about 2 hours) in that whole time.
Their customer support is pants though - but with a service as good as it is, who cares!!

Right, I spoke to someone a while ago who told me Bulldog stopped taking on new customers to make sure their current customer got a good service while they were going to expand their existing service so they could take new customers on.
If they are back in business BT can kiss my arse...I have heard nothing but good things about bulldogg and will give them a call tonight.
