What do you mean crack? Did you feel under pressure to smoke? I hope you do stop again today, you know it makes sense.

Since I quit in September my life is changing quite a bit.

1) Can afford to overpay the mortgage by £300 a month
2) Treated myself to new AV setup, although not from smoking money
3) Decided needed a bigger house for AV setup Smiley
4) On the day we view the first house we find out we are having another baby (no3) so its no longer a luxury, we actually need to move house. Ann's stopped smoking too now.
5) Missed out on first house after paying for survey etc.. but have had our offer accepted on another house which is much nicer and needs less work than that first one. Extra mortgage payments are within the smoking money limit Smiley So moving house with cig money from semi-detached to detached Smiley No more overpayments for a while I suppose, but heh, we are getting a much bigger pad.

Now granted, some of this is quite scary, but you get the idea Smiley Quitting smoking is a positive thing.

I admire your honesty.
Just remember that 1 ciggy reawakens the little monster.

Hi everyone I gave up exactly one month ago today.  I have been out twice since then and have had a social smoke.  So 4 fags in a month in total.  I class myself as a non smoker - I never get the urge unless I am out.  Also the knowledge I will never not have another one seems to help.  Am I a fraud?

Good luck with it all the rest of you…

You are still an addict IMO.

Am I a fraud? If you smoke on nights out then you aren't a non-smoker, although you have done very well to abstain when you are not on social nights out. I'd recommend reading Mr Carrs book to help you get over the final hurdle.

No, but you are still a smoker. And because you smoke so few, it gives an illusion that you enjoy smoking.

Zelda!!!

You are a very bad girl and should be chastised. What you really need is someone to take care of those urges. I'm a fool to myself I know, but I'm one of life's givers. I volunteer my services.

Today is day 13. It is also the day my dads ashes get interred, once it would of been a signal to light up cigarette after cigarette to help me through the day, i'm so glad to be free, as i feel it would almost be like sticking 2 fingers up to him to still be smoking.
Part of my determination to quit was because he died of lung cancer and he kept telling me to pack it in. He kept reminding me thats what was killing him, stupid as it seems i used to go and visit him in a hospice and go outside for fag breaks, how stupid can you be?
It's been a tough time since xmas but i now realise that it would have been no harder to deal with without all those extra cigarettes i had.

I'm going to make this my last update on this thread as i feel i've achieved what i wanted which was freedom from smoking.
Just over 2 weeks in and i feel like i have never smoked and don't even think about it much now, unless i have a sudden nasty day of pangs which i can't see happening there's no reason to post.
I passed on my copy to my brother who had mentioned stopping he Quit on Thursday night so another convert.
Just on a side note i was playing on DTD the other day against a player called Easyway who works at the Manchester clinic. He was a 60 a day smoker and when he quit with easyway he was so amazed he pestered Allen Carr to let him work for him until he relented.
Thankyou again to all the Blondes who quit on this thread for your inspiration, Nemesis for sending the book to Tikay and best wishes to any blondes that decide to quit in the future.
Edit: My wife is doing fine as well she stopped the same time as me.
