Does anyone watch this?

Such an interesting series of shows.  I have never tried to trace my family tree,  has anyone tried to do this before?

I like this programme as well, and this series has got some interesting celebs involved.

It is more of a social history programme than a genealogy programme though, using the specific members of the celebs family tree to  give a more general perspective on the era.

I've been tracing my family tree for about a year and I'd advise anybody who thought about it after watching 'Who Do You Think You Are' to bear in mind that they don't show in the programme 100's of hours of research which goes behind the results the celebs get.

I like it when they have interesting non annoying people on.

The Stephen fry one was fantastic. Clarkson and Paxman (would you believe it they are not related) were good aswell.

This series seems to mainly feature people that annoy me in some way or whom I've never heard of. (the BBC A-list has dried up I guess)

It's true they have got less quality, more annoying celebs on this series - but the stories hold up well, David Dickinson's Armenian heritage and Colin Jackson's slave ancestry for example.

I wasn't all that keen on David Tennant.  I thought he acted too much in it.  Sometimes when an actor does something else, they can't stop acting and treat it like a performance.

I liked Jeremy Clarkson the most.

One of my Aunties has done ours a bit.  She's done quite well going back a couple of hundred years I think.  I did look at it myself but there's a lot of work involved and I couldn't be arsed once I found out it wasn't as easy as googe'ling it Cheesy

I never really knew my Grandparents,  however I do know my Grandfather was the chief fire officier for Bolton and he wrote a couple of books.  My other grandfather owned a bus company which is still in the family .

I agree i have found this series very interesting, its a good social history of this country and sometimes other parts of the world. I particularly enjoyed the Jane Horrocks and Jermery Clarkson ones from the 1st series.

Clarkson is someone i have never really liked but he is quite good at this kind of thing, like his programme on Brunel for the Greatest Briton series.

I like paxman. He was the first to really do hard interviews in which he demanded actual answers from everybody. you have to give him credit for that.

I have met him a couple of times and as a person he is one of the most decent blokes you could possibly meet.

the problem he has now is that everyone does similar sort of interviews and he thought he had to get harder and now has the tendency to come across as an arrogant non-listening sod.

If he can get back to doing proper interviews again, hard but fair, I think he's the best interviewer around (him and ]John Snow) and.
