I received an email yesterday from JetSet poker ( small US site featuring mainly US players) saying that they were closing down. This being obviously connected to the changes in legislation in the US that we all know about  Cry

Always had a soft spot for this site as it was where I first learnt to play online and I still recall the mysteries of those first games wondering exactly when the betting would stop and a flop would be dealt!

Still played there a bit too especially the Headhunter tournys which were always fun.

Less fun though was, after reading the email, when I straightaway tried logging in so that I could withdraw my money to Neteller. Guess what…..the poker site no longer worked and neither did the website except for a closing down notice that gave no contact info.

To be fair the email does make mention of sending all remaining balances by cheque on confirmation of address details which I’ve obviously done.

I just have this nagging suspicion that the cheque won’t turn up. Mainly as I can’t see why they couldn’t have left the banking part of the site open for a week or two so that players could get their money in a much quicker and easier way?

Hopefully cheque will turn up but it just feels like I’m on the verge of a $200 bad beat here!

i do beleive the site is solvent and all accounts will be honored

problem is that they cant leave banking open for 2 weeks while people withdraw as that would be breaking the law

not even sure on the law with cheques to the USA

Roy Cropper eh?  One of Leicester's celebrity supporters.........loved the episode of Coro where you read out the serial number of that oven in the cafe as  LCFC plus some numbers!

Ok...the bit of the email they sent that's relevant is.......

"JetSetPoker shall remit remaining balances via cheque. Please respond to accountclosure@jetsetpoker.com and provide your accurate name and mailing address to initiate the cheque disbursement process."

Best of luck with it Roy!

PS did I mention 3rd / 201 in the speed tourny last night to anyone ?
