There was a thread  regarding headings and should they be extented.
Well today, as of now there are three pages of "today Posts" so is now the time to increase the Catogories
as we have only "General Discussions" and "Tourney live updates"
So what do our "Hero" members think?

I think start with the following

Live Tourney
General
Non Poker
Charity
Local Clubs News/reports
Good Value Tourneys ie Notifying Blondites of CPC,WSOP,Festival and Value added Tourneys ie 10 seats guarenteed

PS. I'm Only posting this because I want to be a Hero some day.

Regards

M

Well you will never be a Hero John, you have to be able to play poker for that, but I think you are right - the amount of posts per day has rocketed, & we need to do something.

I argued against this a while back, but I was clearly wrong.

So what categories should we have then?

I was right back then for a change, as I knew that as traffic increased we'd need more categories.

I started two "seeking information" type threads today, one of which is now on the third page!

I suggest:

General Discussion (advice/strategies)

B&M tournaments: information and live updates (as now)

On line Information and live updates (post forthcoming tournaments/satellites/overlays and then report on them, views on sites etc)

Non-Poker/funnies (of which there are far more, which of course everyone loves as these give the forums their character)

In my experience I honestly think that's too many categories Iron. What happens then, is that the forums either become too diluted and interest in the site wanes, or or a couple of areas become highly populated and the others deserted, which in turn makes the forum look shoddy.

For the current level of traffic I would reccommend keeping it simple:

  • General Discussion
  • Poker Discussion
  • Live Updates

General Discussion would feature threads about Tom's moustache and Tikay's hair, Poker discussion items concerning rules, hand analyses etc, and Live updates for both RL and Internet Tournies (the tournaments being officially being covered by blonde made stickies for their duration).

This might not strike you as enough, but for the current traffic levels it would be just about right to maintain an optimum level of activity. As the site becomes even more popular this can be reassessed.
