I myself would also have a fair amount of space for ads and logos, however much would be covered if the pies mentioned above are the mince & gravy ones, they are so messy! I say yes to The Baron and sponsorship!!

don't forget the yellow suit for barry... sponsorship from vidal fell thru as we had different artistic visions!!!
i defo think that is the next step in poker, "agents" so to speak representing a pool of players that they arrange different deals for. for a slice, this could work as they can arrange deals for individuals/groups for competitions with different groups when it suits both parties! Rather than both parties being tied to long contracts!

i think celebpoker does something similar to this, they claim they are "sending" various "stars" to the starcity £1000er but that may be because they are sponsoring the event. Seeing as most deals (i'm not sure here) involve buyins to big comps will the sponsor pay extra for an agent? What i mean is that there isn't any real hard cash in most cases is there?

I personally think that sponsorhip of players for a particular length of time will fade out soon, and tournament by tournament sponsorship will replace it .... also if said "agent" had lets say 15 players on his books, the ability to negotiate cheaper hotel and travel expenses would be a benefit, and to negotiate with companies for individual sponsorship would be easier for an "agent"....... MONSTER MONSTER BUBBALLAH ...( with apologies to the great Eric Hall)

i think it will be either paid as a retainer thru the sponsor and/or a percentage of the players earnings for the competition... these would all depend on what deal te agent could gain for his players...

Tourny by tourny would not be a good idea, companies would say sponsor me to enter a comp and then end up offering the winner sponsorship to the next event. i.e. there would be no room for dips of form. At least with a year long deal there is some security etc

defo kev the is the way forward... with so many events/playes now individual event sponsorship is the the most likely way for this to happen, unless like william hill they are building a "brand" name and want to try and keep the same well known faces at each event rather than chopping and changing! If your trying to get sponsorship you have to look at it and see what does the company get out of paying you into said £1000 comp... as they won't definately get alot of exposure from the event, and do they really need/want a percentage of your winnings!

companies dont want to sponsor a player so he is comfortable for a whole season... they want results and exposure ... they only get that from sponsoring winners .... harsh but true.

if all the sponsors are after is exposure during a tourny or festival they are missing out
some might say the mob havent been that successfull on the felt since there hook up with prima
but the exposure the mob have given prima is 2nd to none in the sponosrship stakes and the
deal prima have given the mob has helped the mob get over a barren tourniment spell
without worring about the next buyin
ps i dont know how successfull the mob has been in the cash games or online but i would guess they havent broken even on tourny buy ins since there deal with prima

I agree Kev, i was looking at it from the players point of view (obviously) i think it'll be bad for the players if they get dropped every event, think of the added pressure you'll be under to get a result!! It would be near impossible for peeps to play their 'A' game under such circumstances and therefore wouldn't do the company much good in the long run

I think it would be good for players... as i think you can get into a comfort Zone while playing, if you don't get sponsorship for the next event you'll have pay into it yourself! Go away and improve your game to try and regain the deal... Suvival of the fittest so to speak(no pun intended!)
