ifm, thats where a good agent earns his corn, its all about selling people...and i agree that a run of bad results can make the job difficult, but thats where having good regular money winners on your books is so important... I mean look at barry hearns matchroom mob, some of them were never going to win a tournament, but he packaged them as a team and they all made good money ... and so did Mr. hearn lol

130 emoticons from Red-Dog. Exactly 10 times how many runners there were when Ironside won his International Irish Championship.

i want small fis rebuy results... these show pedigree!!! look at junior yoyo they play these week in week out and get results! and they have had big results around the country/world! its still the same game you no even if the buyin is lower than a £100! online resultrs count in decent multis...
i don't think we can use the irish thing? they don't play that in many places... we'd ave to explain the rules!

Sponsorships for players simply have to become more commonplace especially for TV events. There is no way a player (even with the best results) can afford to keep churning out the buy-ins to all the uk circuit events on what they win alone. It is incredibly costly. I for one am going to have to start cutting back on what i play due to other commitments which is gonna take up a lot of my cash. The costs of buy-ins, travel expenses, accomodation etc really does price out a lot of very good players that want to play the circuit events and would do well but cant really afford to commit to more than a couple of events due to the massive costs.
The sponsors have to start sponsoring events properly by adding money to the prize pool (hurrah for Laddies and William Hill) and other companes (including non poker) need to get involved in the events by sponsoring players - the exposure they (the sponsoring company) would get is massive especially in the TV events and they could always but a % payback clause into the contract to help recoup the costs once their man comes good.
