Does anyone have any news on the glasgow poker room, just opened up? Word was that it opened last weekend, however I have no idea of the location and after much searching I have almost given up - the guys I have spoken to didn't have any flyers left and I am crap with directions!

The Club is not open yet. I think it is due to open in about four weeks.

Rest assured that there will be a big news item on blondepoker a few days before it opens.
(Tony G will 'ammer me if I forget to promote it)

It is located reasonable close to the riverside I believe. It is very plush. It will contain 14 tables.

Thats about all I know.

Does anyone have anymore news on this ? Tis very good news if it is defenitly happening. I'm assuming that it will be a Gutshot type place as well ? not your regular casino type place. Huh? Huh?

It IS happening.

And it WILL be a cardroom, NOT a csino.

The name is a long and dull story, more so dull than long, I won't bore you with it just now. No, I was'nt at Aberdeen, I have only actually played live a few times in Glasgow at the Gala casino where i seem to do alright until fate picks me to deal at which point I never fail to look a tit. I'm just looking to get into a spot of live play and this new club seems a handy place to learn my trade.

Ah, I was just curious how you found out about blondepoker, & thought maybe you had been pressganged by Ironside into joining.

Good luck with the poker.

And yes, many of us share your misgivings about dealing, but once the game settles down, nobody really notices. Anyway, just remember you are there to enjoy yourself, you have paid, & that's that.

Is anyone aware of the location, I'd like to find out before it opens if possible. Nobody seems to know when I ask - and unless Im mistaken im sure ive heard rumours of two clubs, one which opened last month, and this one due to open soon, and both in proximity to the riverboat...

I will try & find out for you mikkyT.

Dave seems to know the ins & outs of this, but he is across at The Bellagio right now,, I will drop him a note & see if he has any more info yet.

Give me a day or two.

Right heres the info, I was correct in my original thoughts of the clubs location - however thats just the old glasgow club's new location (after being shut down last year for lack of fire exit) and not the location of the un-opened club.

This new club will be located on Bridge St I have been told, next to a bar and resturant (or including a bar and resturant!?) literally just up the road from the Gala. Could you confirm that for me will whoever Smiley Cheers. No doubt I will find out soon enough anyway as I am told it's gaming licence has been approved.

Hey this is all very good news.

I've been looking for something similar to the gutshot since moving from london to glasgow earlier this year.

Given that i'm missing playing in "barney's home game" (boatmans sky poker channel show) on saturday and the gutshot 30PLHE with howard lederer, andy blochand jesus ferguson on wednesday, this news is a good pick-me-up.

Anyway I can help spread the word as I am in contact with over 20 people in glasgow looking for local poker games and we aren't able to accommodate so many people at the home games.

Cheers,

Dale,

If you are looking for a regular game, the Gala Riverboat casino on Broomielaw (nr Central Station) has games on most nights, as does the recently reopened wabash club. In all likelyhood when TonyG's club opens up, one of these two will have to shut up shop.

Until that time, the wabash runs tournaments most nights, for a tenner or a fiver. The cardroom has an entry fee, on the fiver nights this is 2.

The gala nights are all pot limit re-buy tourneys. Tues (20), Weds (10), Thurs (5), Fri (20) and Sun (20) - The last friday of every month is a 50 no limit game. Registration opens at 9pm, clsoing 9.45pm with tournaments to start at 10pm. No limit Fridays are an hour earlier (8pm, with 9pm start)
