After watchin it last night i was reminded just how funny it was, some of the quotes i love are

Jimmy Rabbitte: What do you play?
Failed Drug Buyer: I used to play football in school.
Jimmy Rabbitte: I mean, what instrument?
Failed Drug Buyer: I don't.
Jimmy Rabbitte: What are you doing here, then?
Failed Drug Buyer: Well, I saw everyone else lining up, so, uh -- I thought you were selling drugs.

Billy: And you... George Michael... you ever call me a fuckin' eejit again, you'll go home with the drumsticks stuck up your hole... the one you don't sing out of.
Deco: That'll be the day.
Billy: I'm tellin' ya it's coming, so keep your Vaseline handy.

ahhhh, brain fade.  I saw this in the paper yesterday afternoon and was looking forward to it.  About 1am last night when I was about to go to bed, I remembered about it. Dohhhh.  I still haven't seen that movie.

Haven't seen it!

I hope you're about 15 years old, otherwise no excuse!

I have wanted to see this for about 15 years, but so far have missed it every time.  It took me years to see the Hustler movie on TV. Eventually I had to buy the DVD a few years ago in the January sales after Christmas.

I have to confess I still haven't see it either, one of those that I always meant to get round to watching but never have.

I'll go and beat myself with a stick now....

Just one of those great films.
Working class brits can identify with it.
Laugh out loud funny.
No cheesy ending, but still a feelgood factor.

What happened to the Deco actor?

My all time favourite movie. Jake was playing with the remote control and on it popped last night. 2 hours of sheer pleasure.

A hundred choices for my favourite quote... but this just wins it:

(talking about kicking Ray out of the band)
Jimmy Rabbitte: How did Ray take the news?
Derek: Not too bad. Said he was goin' solo.
Jimmy Rabbitte: He doesn't have much of a choice, does he?

Both Deco and Natalie had absolutely incredible voices. I'm shocked neither of them have become huge stars.

I looked on wikipedia and Andrew Strong has released 4 albums and toured with the Stones, Prince and Elton John.

Not a bad career then!

...

He opted for a singing career, she opted for an acting one.

Despite his Grammy nomination and supporting the stars mentioned above, I think her career was better - this is the IMDB link.

I loved this movie when it came out and caught the last 15mins of it last night.

Sark, you've got a gem there in 'The Hustler'. One of the few movies that are better than the book it's based on (author Walter Tevis).
