You raise here preflop which is ok, a bit early for a raise perhaps I dont mind a limp here with 6k in chips either. I think you make a mistake on the flop by not betting, you have position and the betting lead , firing a good bet here may win you the pot . If you bet 500/600 he will either move in or pass due to his stacksize . If he moves in you probably have to pass but the bet doesnt have to be successful that often to show a positive expectation.
The turn decisin is now a bit marginal and is going to cost you twice as many chips as a flop bet . I dont pass here but some would say it's a good disciplined fold. I only dont pass because of the limited liability I have in the hand and I feel I can afford it . ( also I dont mind a gamble)

this is how i do it at the table with 30 secs or whatever to make a decision,

I assume any diamond or ten wins us the pot. That's 12 outs, 9 diamonds including the 10 and 3 other 10s. That means you're only roughly 24% (outs x 2 = rough % on the river. on the turn it's outs x 4 = rough %)to win the hand or about 3/1.

so you need 3/1 odds to make this the correct call. there's 2239 in the pot and it's 1251 to call so you're getting less than 2/1.

It's a fold imo. And I almost always c-bet the flop against only one opponent.

Thanks for the replys guys. I raised pre flop because the pot was un opened and it was the short stacks big blind. I thought he would pass because he doesn't have much chips left and he would probably push if he had anything half decent. Im not sure what to think by the fact he just calls. The flop for me could be better and when he checks to me I was getting the feeling me was expecting me to bet out as I was the pre flop raiser so that he could shove thats why I opted for the free card. Had he checked the turn I would have bet out around half his stack.

Yes i agree, it looks like he was going to check raise.

I think the flop play is good however, i would have raised more preflop.

The guy can't really bluff you here because he has to bluff with his whole stack and you could have easily checked the ace on that flop to try and milk him later in the hand. I think you find out what you wanted to know cheaply. I fold to his turn bet.

Raise more preflop. Fold to his all in. Even if your Queen and Jack is live you don't have the right odds to try and catch.
