Does you play poker while at your office? I’m guessing that most firewalls would block the use of poker sites but I think you could get round this by using LogMeIn. This software gives you access to your home PC via your web browser. Does anyone here use it and if so what are your thoughts?

It's like gambling somehow. You go out for a night of drinking and you don't know where you're going to end up the next day. It could work out good or it could be disastrous. It's like the throw of the dice.

I sometimes play a freeroll when I'm really bored. we have unlimited internetaccess here. I wouldn't play for cash though as it's not the right environment to do well and I might get interrupted by someone which could cost me.

interestingly enough, our work is firewalled to death (american paranoia rules), but tribeca (blonde, bluesq etc) seem to be able to run ok over it, whereas other poker rooms cannot connect.

Now being a gentleman of leisure, it's not an issue, but at my former employer's it would be a) very difficult to get software installed and logged on b) very difficult to conceal playing (open plan office) and c) gross misconduct if caught.

yeah for some reason

a: we can download everything here. I know people who download entire CD's and DVD's at work.

b; Noone cares about concealing anything as long as the work is done everything is fine.

c; it is gross misconduct but noone gives a toss.

As I'm from a background where security is everything I was shocked to find this and Lord knows I wouldn't be running an office like this as I reckon it's grossly unprofessional...but what can ya do?

I am a teacher and as a result Glasgow City Council closely monitor what we can access.

I read poker blogs pretty much whenever I am not teaching. Its no wonder my students complain about how long it takes me to correct work

wouldn't even dream of trying.

I occasionally work at home and will have a game then during my lunch break.
