Ironsides stays in Elgin, about 65 miles from Aberdeen. He supports some football team from Aberdeen who were good once.

Although a dig, that's the nicest thing you've ever said Rod.

They were a good team under Ferguson (although he inheirited most of his players) - my Dad used to drag me along to watch them now and again. I started going to the games I really wanted to see with the Celtic club just at the end of Ferguson's time there.

yes ive been to elgin and to aberdeen city. went to lovely sicilian called 'rustico' and had a beautiful meal for brads birthday in the city. ive been right around grampian and its all really nice. i liked cruden bay too but had no time to see the big castle. i will the next time. ive got one more afternoon of work here after a lunchtime meeting then back on monday. its been great. did you know 80% of grampian is open countryside with 20% forresty or wood? even the towns and built up parts are lovely. a real contrast to Glasgow. again, as ive said before, its the cleanest city ive ever been too and i would come back for pleasure in a minute. ive still not seen the auroroa borealis though:(

I did a firefighting course in Montrose once. Is that near Elgin?

No, Elgin is to the North, Montrose is to the South. Both smell of fish though

Sounds more like a Hearts player than an Aberdeen one to me!
