Just a wee note to say it was nice to put some names to faces last night. rfc , decider , alan(many user names) as well as Teacake, div and Rod(good reward for hard work in a successfull tourney).
Good tournament , lots of playability in a doublechance freezeout. Exited with pocket tens getting kicked all over the table after hitting the top trips to a 4 way all in. Shocked

looks like it`ll take of then as a regular tourney as it was full and bodies were turned awat.

And congrats to Davebhoy for top tabling ad getting cash....but did you have to make us wait until 2 am to give you a lift Grin

Ha ha sorry mate!

Yes i final tabled to scoop some $$.

A special thank to my Railbirds: Div, Teacake, Patman, Rod and Nidavellir AKA Vasuki AKA Allan.

Your support was much appreciated through out the 5 hour ordeal.

Night was great, plenty starting chips and lots and lots of play.

==================================

PS i also had KK 5 times last night, 3 x times i doubled through, 1 x i raised and got no action, 1 x i put a short stack all-in with A rag and he hits the Ace!

PPS oh did i also mention i Cracked the dealers AA When my Pocket 88's Tripped up! (I think RFC, to my left, liked that one)

Great night and look forward to next one.

==================================

RFC what is the tourney tonight mate in the RiverBoat, im heading in and might play it?

Cracking night. Good structure, very nice venue, friendly staff.

54 runners and a few latecomers turned away.

One complaint - Dave seems to have hijacked my Aces and Kings quota!

Good tourney guys, well done on making the money Dave.  Great to be able to put faces to names.

We are definitely up for a regular tourney with a similar format.  I've posted a Game Report on GPS, would it be of interest to folks if I post it here?

Cheers,

Eoan

Yep - good to put faces to the names.

Please post the report on here - feedback is needed (particualrly to get more of the same out of the club).

As far as I know they are going with the same again on Thursday - I'll be in to chat with them on Monday & will confirm.

Cheers, Rod

mmm perhaps only 2000 starting chips would have been better then if they were looking for it to finish earlier

yeah i know i really liked having that amount of chips too but i think the owners were wanting it to finish earlier, theres only a few ways to do that either you make it a freezeout, no buy ins or top ups / you lower the amount of starting chips / or as rod said in another thread upping the blinds and putting antes in.

i liked the structure but im thinking they may cancel the structure if the dont get it to finish when they would like it to finish

I wouldn't worry too much about that. They are more used to chops ending almost all tournaments. If we adjust the blinds/antes a wee bit we should get a decent finish time but the same basic structure.

I would say the simplest way is to reduce the time between blind increases after the rebuys & introduce an ante.

After rebuys, increase the blinds every 15mins instead of 20mins.  Then when we get to 1k, 2k limits, the players have to ante 1/10th the small blind.  When the limits get higher, to 4000/8000, then the field should have narrowed enough, the blinds then increase every 10mins until the limit is reached.  Up to you to determine the limit, but I'd say stop at 1/10th of the outstanding chips.

We had a pot of approx £1350, meaning £15*90 buyins, so 3k*90 chips = 270k chips.  So, limit the big blind to 27k chips in this scenario...  That way you can still have some action heads up, but it should thin the field quickly enough to allow a 1pm finish.

Doesn't tournament director recommend a structure based on a time limit required?

As some folk aren't used to playing with ante's, players should be made well aware that they are part of the structure at the start of the tourney.

Question... how high did the blinds get last night?
