Claire,
The truest poker "saying" for me is: You're not as good as your best result or as bad as your worst play.
Try to remember all the good things you've done. Think positive. Go to the 'community' section of this site and look hard at what you've achieved in some very tough blonde league fields. Don't doubt the achievement.... You kicked ass!
You put the moves on some much more experienced players than yourself, you've dominated final tables and you've always taken your wins with a little flair. Don't forget the highs.

well for once I'm pleased to report a plan that didn't work My attempt to tilt off all my $$ at the cash tables now has me over $60 in profit on my $28 after two short sessions. I might stick with the low stakes cash for a bit as I seem to be having a bit more luck there than with the tourneys.

I find the intro of supersystem where Doyle talks about his life very inspiring. Not the poker bit...just him.

I always made more money at the cash games than with tourneys, maybe you're more suited to cash? I'm having to learn how to adapt my game a little for tourneys - and I don't know if the play needs to be that different most of the time, it's more a case of a different overall approach. There's no shame in dropping down a few levels at all. Better to win a little than lose a lot. If you do feel like you're on tilit find a micro-limit cash game and play like a maniac. It's great fun, you can't lose more than a few dollars, and as you'll be playing fearlessly you'll probably end up winning! In fact, I recommend that everyone tries it every now and again.

Kinboshi might be right, that your play might just be more suited to cash rather than tourneys, but with good results in the past it might be worth having a look at your game to see if you have changed it in anyway that might have affected your tourney results. I had a bad run on MTT's, but the Saturday before last I entered a series of megacheap tourneys to analyse where I was losing and what I was doing wrong - as a result of that I changed my game a bit and won my first MTT since August on Sunday, and scored my first points in The Hendon Mob League on Tuesday. So it might be worth paying for a few $1 tournaments and scrutinising to see if any errors have crept into your tournament play.

Nowt wrong with your game and I know coz I've seen it live..............oh and by the way we ALL go through this at some point and it seems to happen to me far more on line than live. Your result at low level has already shown that. oh and one other thing I could happily smack the person who just stole half my stack with his 4's against my 8's...........there is more dubious play on line.

I've had bad beats, I've felt sick at bubbling, but always taken on on the chin as part of the game. Don't know what's different tonight but I never felt so fed up with bloody poker as I do right now. This is the exact reason I hardly play anymore... I'm sick of losing, so now I only play very low stakes with friends and just for the hell of it/for a laugh.
