was just having a mind wander and thinking back to my teenage days (before t'internet) and all the fun I used to have on the CB, arranging 'eyeballs' and going on 'foxhunts'.  I don't suppose anyone really uses them now that the www has taken over, which seems a shame.

was anyone else a fan and, if so, what was your handle? Smiley

This was covered in one of Ricky Gervais podcasts where Carl Pilkington went through his CB days. Had me in stitches

I have never used one, but I am a bit of a shortwave radio dweeb.  I have been interested in this geeky activity for ages.  It is amazing when I can pick up an obscure radio station from the other side of the World.  I picked up a Tibetan radio station recently.  It depends on the time of day and weather conditions,  where I live there always seems to be thick clouds which has a negative effect on finding good stations.

I use one now when I go off-roading in my Dads land rover. We went a few months ago and my sister started chatting up some guy on it (as you do). We ended up driving past him and now they still have contact on msn. They're good fun and very useful for green-laning with lots of other land rovers.
