Who cares ? Life is too short surley? Nemesis was a good poster and I hope he comes back but dredging up the ban thing again is utterly futile.

Exactly, why do some folks just wanna jump onto a thread just to (once again) say they are right, leave it as is.
It isn't a debate as to whether it was right or wrong.

I can't really see what the point is of banning anyone for two weeks.  If someone is a proper troublemaker ban them for good. But in the case of regular and valued members who may infringe the rules somehow I'm sure a friendly word would have been quite suffcient. The whole thing does rather smack of petty officialdom excercising arbitary power just because they can.

heres the means

An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer

for the record i did not start this thread to illicit views around the ban. i wanted to know if nem was returning and if the mods had asked. i dont take kindly to being called a troll, although it does have a certain ring to it Smiley

I didnt actually call anyone a troll, just I am sure I have seen this thread appear over and over again in some form or another recently, each one turning into a pointless debate on why he was banned and how the mods run this forum.

This thread is folowing a familiar pattern, people making statements when they don't know the facts. We did have several friendly words with Nem, then we gave him a friendly warning. then we gave him a final warning, then we suspended his account for two weeks.

If you think we are just exercising arbitrary powers just because we can, that's your prerogative, there are plenty of unmoderated forums out there if you want to use one.

If you agree that a friendly word is the way to go, then hear this. I'm asking you all now, as a friend. Please, let it go!

nemesis is welcome back and he knows this

the mods do a voluntary job and we try our best

nemesis believes that i was behind his suspension

and that i wanted him off the forum 24/7

nothing could be further from nemesis is a good bloke with other people's good at heart

myself and him have in the past had run in private but this was not involved in his suspension

and i would welcome him back

well, I don't know the full story, but if he feels his suspension wasn't warrented (which reading between the lines seems to maybe be the case), perhaps he just doesn't want to come back.  I don't know if I would.  Agree it is a shame though, it's not the same without him around.

please come back Nem!

i read between the lines and on the lines and theres no maybe about it he deserved his ban!

just to clarify what I meant, as I've worded it a little ambigously.  I meant that, reading between the lines, it seemed as thought nemesis felt his suspension wasn't warrented.  I'm not forming any judgement myself because I don't know the facts.
