Why does everyone hate it? I have never had any problems with it.

Ditto, I don't use it as my mp3 player, but as a libary, I can't see why people hate it so much. The iTunes shop is fantastic too. The whole setup is very easy to navigate and use in my opinion.

My Ipod keeps getting "stuck" and I have to turn it off and on again more or less after each song i play. Can the software be reinstalled to remedy this or is it a shop job?

I think WMP 10 has a patch now that allows use of an iPod.
Not sure cos I have one of the Zen Creative MP3 players.
Nero music player connects automatically with this also.

Totally agree, I went for a 30gb Creative Vision M instead of an Ipod but still use Itunes to sort out my music into to album folders. These can then easily be dragged and dropped onto the player via windows explorer.
