As I work away from home during the week I normally send my 7 year old daughter a letter to brighten up her week. It's also become something of a tradition that I set her questions or tests. These are normally about maths or spellings or word searches that kind of thing but today I am sending the test copied below. She come home with a mini pack of cards the other day from the newsagent "because she wanted to play cards with her daddy" well it brought a lump to my throat anyway!
So this week, my little 7 year old will be mostly answering the following -
Question 1 - How many fours are there in the pack of cards?
Answer __________________________________________
Question 2 - How many cards are there with hearts on?
Answer __________________________________________
Question 3 - How many one - eyed Jacks are there?
Answer __________________________________________
Question 4 - Put the cards down like this, 4 + 7 + 9 + King + Jack = How many?

? (here is a clue Kings and Jacks and Queens all equal 10.)
Answer __________________________________________
Question 5 - How much is the Ace worth? (clue, it is worth two different amounts)
Answer __________________________________________
Question 6 - How many red sevens are there?
Answer __________________________________________
First blondite with the correct answers wins err, my respect and admiration! Oh and the knowledge that that can probably outwit a 7 year old girl.
