Maybe that's just rose tinted specs.
Maybe the kids today watching Ant and Dec get just as much from their antics as we derived from Crinkly Bottom. Furthermore, maybe those a little older than us didn't really like the gotchas or Grab a Grand as much as we did.
I mean they play re-runs of Gladiators on Challenge, that show used to pwn on a Saturday when I was wee, but I wouldn't dream of sitting through one today. Awoooga indeed.
In a related issue, you never see any gunging any more. Some TV producer decided a while back that it would be all scorpions and spiders from now on. Is this a bad thing, or a good thing?
Also, what's next. In 10 years time, after we're bored of creepy crawlies, will we be putting celebrities in the microwave or something?
Are any tabloids hiring? I wanna write a column.

I loved Noels house party, at least when Celebs debased themselves on that show it was funny in a cringworthy way.
These days all we see is general debasement on TV regardless of Celeb status or not ( for the not please see first 6 weeks of X factor ) .
TV is so bad these days that I have reduced my Sky TV package to a basic one, the only worthwhile programmes to watch are CSI, NCIS, The Simpson's, WSOP, and High Stakes Poker. ( in my opinion that is ).
I saw even more bad news on the news wire that Big Brother will continue to be shown on our screens until 2010!
Perhaps someday we may get some imaginative writers and producers that will give us a show that may captivate an audience .
As for microwaving celebs, I would not bother wasting the electricity, Its better these people fade in to anonymity IMHO.
