Last nights tourney exit hand. Am already in the money ($400ish) but only have 7x bb left and am looking for a spot to double up, the guy on the button has a decent amount of chips and is raising every time it is passed round to him when he is on the button. He puts in 3xbb raise, I have A8d and decide to push thinking I'm probaly ahead and knowing he will probably call.

As it turns out I lost, should I have waited or did I do the right thing?

Looks like a standard push to me.

I don't think many people have won this comp by not pushing there, sometimes you gotta just go for the double up. Occasionaly you get a folder to the re-raise for that much, this makes it well worth a push.

You're forced into acting soon anyway, so it's a definite push for me. Actually, considering how short stacked you are, I think it's a very good situation to be in. Are you really going to wait for a better one?

I think I did the correct thing, I just wanted to check. If it had been a $10 tourney I probably wouldn't even be asking!

"is raising every time it is passed round to him on the button" this statement makes this a very easy push but you already knew that. You got your chips in ahead in a good spot just got unlucky.
