A stunningly good & perceptive Post by Mr Tank!

Fora, I have learnt, are strange places. They have moodswings, good days & weeks, bad days & weeks, happy days, sad days. As they grow, they become more difficult to control, to steer, to keep the way we want it kept.

I do my best, the Mods do their best, but ultimately, the Members make the place what it is, or what it is not.

But Tank's Post reminds us if what we often forget. This place is here to amuse & entertain, it's free, & we all have to work had to keep the place decent, civil, & somewhere we enjoy visiting.

If it ever became "ordinary", or full of intolerance, with flaming galore & no human decency, I'd close it. Luckily, it's a long way from any of those things. It has some truly wonderful Members, & all of us, Members & Mods alike, work hard to keep "our" place clean. Given that it's free, I think that most of us get good value from it. But we only get out of it what we put into it. "We" being all of us.

Anyway, thank you for those words Tank.

xx

The mods are as guilty as the non mods are as guilty as myself in bringing about all this. The odd bit here and there is healthy. but if we indulge ourselves too much, we are in danger of driving away new members,

Not a chance.  I've only been here a couple of weeks.  But the welcome & help I've already had has been phenominal.

I'll admit that the in-bitching last night shocked me.  But it sounds like that's been brewing for a while.

As long as there are people like your good self here, making sense & making dweebs like me welcome, this place is assured a long and healthy life.

Yes my friend, that was some thread yesterday! I've no idea where it came from, like the tornado that hit London this week, one moment everything seemed fine, then "wham"!

We'll get through, maybe lose a few along the way, but we will stick to our core values, & all will be well.

9th?? With my total lack of experience and by no complete fluke I finished 24th the month before.... STILL trying to figure out quite HOW I managed it!

Hopefully everyone is here to pick up each other when we are down, and to strive to keep the rolls going the odd times we get on them!!

ffs, what a pile of mushy sentimental crap. Obviously living in Falkirk is affecting his sensbility.

So you played well in a tourney, and when your "friends" came out to support you in the final, you bottled it. fantastic.
