I don't think it's standard, but I do think it's excellent poker.

You need a good player to make that pass, someone with the kind of instinct and feel that it is hard to teach.

(One of the reasons why I'm skeptical of your claims to be able to teach almost anyone how to beat $2/$5 cash games relatively swiftly. You're a better player than you give yourself credit for.  )

Tough decision and i hate these. There is a definite case for a bluff here. What is he representing is   right? The only other hand that gives sense to his play is if he has -Xh imo. What i can't understand is why he doesn't make any attempt to build the pot with these hands, he has to put you on an ace. However, I think your turn check looks weak and his weak lead is consistent with someone who wants a call/raise from a weaker hand, so i would fold unless i had him pegged as an 'at it' player.

ps. i wrote this before tanks response.

Yep i think its standard, well played hand on every street. Very few villans ever do this w/o the  on the river.

Very good fold well played throughout. Though I turn into a bit of a skirt where the river is concerned you could easily get called by either a Jack or Ten of hearts on that river.

Can I ask why you raised the river if you were going to lay down the 2nd nuts to a reraise? Why not just call the $4 on the end and see if he has the nuts?

His $4 bet just seemed so weak. Thought maybe he calls with a slightly lower flush.

Ugh if I did say that (which I don't think I did TBH, I quoted Green Plastic saying something similar???) it must have been when i was running stupid hot and stupidly thinking I was a poker God. I am down over $2.5K at 2/5 so far this month.

If I remember the thread in question, did you not say that you play $2/$4 but could teach anyone to beat 25c/50c? (totalise was saying that you need to beat something like $10/$20 to be able to teach anyone anything)

Edit: Found the thread - I think : totalise's comment, followed by Byron's.

I was running crazy hot then, I started November running crazy bad lost like 9K in a week, then ran turbo nutty good and including MTTs ended the month up nearly 20K. Now that I am back in my usual break even/losing slightly mediocrity, I look back on my overconfidence and realise how stupid it was.

Ah, ok, I misunderstood.

Maybe I did get your comments confused with something I read elsewhere. the main point i was trying to say though, is that it looks like good play to me. Won't be long before you're running crazy hot again.
