well, there's another afternoon gone!

I've locked the thread.

Although some people would have wished the thread was locked some time ago the mods were extremely reluctant to do so because there were serious issues to be resolved. We deleted a number of posts that went over the line of acceptability and let it carry on.

Today, after tikay posted the results of his meeting last night which showed substantial progress made, the thread descended out of control with personal disputes overtaking the substantive debate despite repeated appeals for restraint. You can all see this for yourselves. The irony here is that without those disputes more progress could probably have been made.

I am not apportioning blame, and don't intend deleting any post but I and fellow mods are also charged with  upholding "the blonde way" (which except for occasional lapses ourselves we do!) and sadly the decision had to be made.

At the moment I don't know if the thread is temporarily or permanently locked. We'll let you know.

Appologies for my part in it going to far and I think it was locked at exactly the right time before it went any further.

Anyone got any make-up remover?

You would need more than make up remover... i hear they put it on with a trowel !!  you would probably be better using a sandblaster to remove it !!

Gotta tell you, I look like Robert Smith. (He of The Cure). Seriously, they plaster this make-up stuff everywhere, but they dont help me get it off. So to speak.

I won't ask Tighty to open it, as he & the other Mods have to handle all the flak, while I'm messing about down here in London dressed up like a fairy, so it's their decision. I imagine they will open it soon.

The thread will be re-opened within the hour

I have been asked by The Nun to post a message on the thread. It makes for emotional reading and I trust that all posters will take their cue from the wishes expressed in it

thanks
