p.s. i didn't vote because its none of your business Wink Its anonymous!

Primate rule number 1: Trust no-one

i don't know that someone isn't using some kind of fancy IP address tracer to match peoples votes to the IP addresses of forum posts - then by using a complex series of hacking techniques and password bypassing programmes logging into peoples online poker accounts and playing a series of $10000 heads up matches with "nemesisbot".......

dang, really need to see someone about this over active imagination and paranoia

my collection of Panini Stickers 1978-79 (estimated value)

Damn, I needed just John Robertson to complete the set.

By the end of the season I was offering 200 swapsys for one John Robertson but noone and I mean noone in my school had Robbo. And my Mum wouldn't let me send off for him. (Dunno why not)

So I drew a little picture of him in the book  Cry

Doubt my collection is worth £800.

When I was at my Panini peak (84/85) John Barnes was absolute gold dust - no one had him. We all thought they'd deliberately not printed any of him just to annoy us.

Meanwhile, we were all able to wallpaper our bedrooms with Tim Breacker (should we have wanted to).

Oh happy days.

Do you remeber going through fistfuls of stickers saying "gotit, gotit, gotit, Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeedit, gotit, gotit."?

And was there an exchange rate at your schools?

Rare Arsenal and Spurs (Chipper Brady or Steve Perryman) players were worth more than rare Middlesrough or Aston Villa players (Graeme Souness with a huge afro or Gordon Cowans).

OOOOOOH i have 80-81, what's the estimate for yours??

£700-800ish, complete, mint condition. I mean mint too.

Saddo alert, I spoke to a football memorabilia dealer about it

Saddo alert 2, its in a safe deposit box in London with some bearer bond investments, lololol

you got to be kidding, please tell me that "mint condition" isnt spoiled by writing all the scores in the necessary boxes during the tournament - including "world cup record" after Hungary beat El Salvador 10-1 in the group stages

 dont river me

I'm pretty certain my copy of World Cup 82 (complete) has the scores written in.  Got a full Football 83 one (which was the year they did 'full length' pics, not the headshots) and my Football 82 set is one sticker short after Panini failed to send the Sheffield Wednesday badge with the last 50 sticker request.

I find it immensely fascinating that I can remember all this, and yet have long forgotten things from last week!

Nowadays, even the sticker books have been ruined as a hobby.  Half the stickers have the kits blanked out due to exclusivity issues.  Its just not the same anymore!

Nothing beats the memory of Coventry City in 77-78's album appearing in their brown kit...

Thinking back, one of the great ironies of the Panini era was that in the World Cup issues, the minnow teams like El Salvador, etc had the 2 players to a page stickers on them, which is exactly what they did with the Scottish Premier League in the league versions!
