Opponent in this hand has been pretty solid. Make a few dodge calls in first 2 levels but has been pretty tight since.

no- fold and jam when you get chance instead of calling into an obvious situation where you are drawing thin if not dead

I agree. I also  don't like the 1k bet on the turn..actually hate it. The guy already called you pre-flop raise and flop bet  (which is a decent sized bet) and then when the Ace comes down and you have to be behind (unless he's a very poor player) yet you stick half your chips in.
You had 30 BB's before this hand and raise with an extremely marginal hand from UTG. And don't really raise enough to scare anyone off. You are beat on the turn, check it and if he bets it fold. You still had 22 BB's when that turn came down and to stick half your chips in is suicide IMO.

you would have 12 BB's left if you fold...that's still enough to make something of the tourney.

If you called and turned out to be ahead then good luck to you but in that case I'd be taking notes about chiphunter as he is a poor poor player if he's not ahead here.

Its a satellite, so you qualify with one chip and get the same as teh guy who holds 10m chips - definite fold.

A couple of points to help hopefully too....

1) Don't raise utg with KQo
2) Don't be concerned about the average chip size in the tournament. It is noce to knpow where you are, but that's all. Much more important to know your stack size in realation to the blinds. At 50/100 you have plenty of play in your stack and do not need to bee looking to move yet.

You also don't want to go broke on the A turn. Sure you still could, but keep the pot small. You are committed to your stack now and you only get action if you are beat.

Check-call, might mean that even with betting on two streets, you could still have a few chips left. Sure it will be difficult to rebuild, but you have a greater chance than you do from the rail.
