right i managed to get my laptop working with my modem and router not hooked up to desktop like use said can be done, only trouble now is desktop has no internet connection as its to far away from modem( in diffrent room ) is there anyway to make my desktop wireless or do i need to get the men in blue round to change witch room my modem ends up in

Easy way is to buy a usb/wireless adaptor.
