I have downloaded it and I can see no differences.  Can you?  Smiley

One huge improvement is that the tabs each have a cross on them, making them easy to close individually (didn't have this before AFAIK).

I'm sure there's far more, but that change alone makes it far more user-friendly for me.

Oddly enough, when Firefox first came out, that was the very first thing that myself and Flushy wanted to get rid of, as we preferred it the old way, with one cross in the corner of the browser.

Thankfully, Firefox is fully user-configurable, unlike that brokeass piece of crap IE7.

I find that IE7 takes ages to come up on my screen after clicking the icon. FF2 comes up immediately after clicking the desktop icon

Yeah, I got rid of all the crosses and just use middle click to close tabs. The first time I clicked on the x when I wanted to switch to the tab was the last...

I like the "Word" like spell checker Firefox provides - i.e. spelling errors are immediately underlined.  This is the main reason I use it over IE7.

Actually, perhaps some one can help me with a problem I have with Firefox that's driving me up the wall.

Sometimes, not all the time, if I type an apostrophe, it pops up with a search filter rather than typing the character and there's nothing I can do to then type the character (I suppose I could go via character map if I could be bothered).  I'm guessing its some sort of hotkey but its not one that I've ever set up.

If so, how do I remove it?

Looks like that'll be the issue then.  Thanks Bongo, I'll try it when I get home.

I couldn't move over to 2.0 straightaway when it was released, because I use loads of add-ons (about 30 - don't ask!), and they weren't all compatible with the new version.

I waited a few months and then updated (and now almost all the extensions have been updated for 2.0), and there are some subtle, but important differences.  There's a list here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0/releasenotes/#whatsnew

IE7 attempted to copy the tabbed interface, but failed miserably.

To be fair tabs weren't a Mozilla innovation.

Oddly it's the opposite for me, i use a mix of both FF and IE7 as some sites won't work in FF but will in IE and vice versa.
I find them both fine (actually very little difference at all) but make sure you back up your bookmarks from FF!!!
