STT, payout 50%/30%/20%
Hand Start.
Seat 1 : Son0fZeus has $4,350
Seat 7 : dollarmoney has $8,510
Seat 9 : seasons5 has $5,140
Son0fZeus is the dealer.
dollarmoney posted small blind. (150)
seasons5 posted big blind. (300)
Dealing Hole Cards.
Seat 1 : Son0fZeus has
Son0fZeus called 300 and raised 600
dollarmoney called 750
seasons5 folded.
Dealing flop.
Board cards [
]
dollarmoney checked.
Son0fZeus checked.
Dealing turn.
Board cards [
]
dollarmoney bet 500
Son0fZeus called 500
Dealing river.
Board cards [
]
dollarmoney bet 900
It's your turn.
Son0fZeus has 10 seconds to respond.................................
You've chosen not to c bet the flop, and just flat call the turn. On the river, your opponent has bet 900........
Q1
Do you just flat call, or is there plenty value for a raise of your last 2k here?
Q2
What if the 3rd player not in the hand has 2k instead of 5k left?

q1 there's value in pushing here I think. Already 3700 in the pot and I'm wiloling to take that risk when we get to this stage of a tourney with a decent two pair.
Q2. I'd push even when the third player has 2k left. Don't like hands like KJ but I'll take two pair here. If you fold you have 2k left and you might squeeze a place higher but that's by no means guaranteed. In STT's this is the risk you sometimes have to take I think. You've doubled your money (justabout) and now have a decent part of the board..time to try and win it as the other guy could just have any Ace.

I would like to know what the reason for the fold or flatcall is here?
What do you take the oppo for when he's betting at this stage of the tourney after checking the flop and flatcalling pre-flop?

Folding is simply not an option, we have two pair, three handed, and calling would only cost 900.
We're not going to call 500 on the turn, improve our hand dramatically on the river, and then pass.
The issue is whether to re-raise (all-in) or not.

I agree..and don't like the flatcall three handed here. I push .

I think it's got to be a raise too. You have just hit your money card.
There is a question when it comes to hands like this....will a worse hand pay you off.
19 out of 20 opponents I think would make a crying (or an insta) call with the solitary Ace, so I think the answer is yes, you will get payed off when ahead.
I raise in the above situation (Q1), I raise for Q2 too.
Q3.
Do you raise if the 3rd player has only 25 chips remaining?
If you answer no here, but raised in either Q1 or Q2 or both, I would be interested in your opinion of Q4.
Q4.
You raise when seasons5 (the 3rd player) has 2,000 chips and/or 5,000 chips. You didn't when he has just 25 chips.
Hypothetically, what is the largest number of chips seasons5 could have, where you would still decline the option to raise the river?

Ah the easy climbing a place option. I start to go for winning the tourney. And although a push could get you knocked out in 3rd when 2nd is justabout guaranteed when someone has less then a BB left. I will mainly think of winning here. I still push and would hope to assuremyself a big chiplead HU.

I raise every time unless the short stack has 600 or under left, in which case i'll flat call the river.

Looks to me like he saw u were weak on the flop? Maybe he has KQ? Unlikely he would call then? I'm 50/50 between calling and raising.
