My local in Glasgow is a mixed pub, with Celtic, Rangers, and a Partick Thistle fan drinking in it & the banter and abuse can be fierce at times, BUT if non-regulars are in things are calmed down a bit as we don’t know how they will react. We also know that when push comes to shove the locals will defend other locals no matter which team they support. I hope that we can start to look at this section of Blonde in a similar way, keeping the slagging toned down a bit as we don’t know who is in, and how offended they are going to be by it.
I posted this on the Sports discussion board, but then forgot to listen to myself.
MadYank took what I posted differently from how I was reading it and pulled me up for it & I unleashed my (self)rightuous anger upon him, he replied, I did likewise & TBH we both could/should? have been given a 2 week suspension to calm ourselves down.
We both said plenty we shouldn't have and I appologise to MadYank, the rest of you & particularly to the other Mods who i put in a terrible position.
I feel I have to step down as a mod, purely because of how I've reacted in this whole sorry episode. I hope we can go back to blonde as we know and love it. I also ask for all who stir it as a wind up to give the guys a break, blonde hasn't been a lot of fun to mod lately, which make mods bad tempered, which gives more ammo to stir it, which makes it more agravating to mod etc etc etc let's try being nice for a few weeks....
