Apparently, the big casino owners are millionaires with lavish lifestyles....

I love Tessa Jowell Smiley She has integrity written over that big grin of hers.
"Addition of large casinos does not lead to increase in problem gambling." Erm. Because. Erm. Problem gamblers trip down the stairs in these super casinos and are incapacitated???
Anyway, the superjackpots are overrated. Just the other day my wife came home after winning 2 million, paid of the mortgage, and I was none the wiser.

Every time I read an article or watch a tv prog about an issue that I know something about the obvious agenda of the reporter and the twisting of facts become so obvious.

The government wants to tempt online operators to the Uk so that they can be regulated and their profits taxed - well what a showstopper that is.

I thought there were a couple of interesting points. Looks like the supercasino will be at the dome if it's all tied into the olympics and 90 new casinos have been approved. It's all good for us of course cos we know about EV and stuff and aren't silly enough to sit in front of a fruit machine all day but obv there's gonna be a whole load of people losing their houses because of this.

Don't forget though that online gambling is worse, as they (and I quote)  "can't stop people who are intoxicated, under-age, or have learning difficulties from playing."

So these bricks and mortar casinos should be a good thing then?

I switched off after a while, got bored with the Daily Mail-esque hyperbole.

Didn't hear a mention of poker though (before I changed channel), and all the way through was thinking that Rob's licence application should go through with no problems whatsoever (as it doesn't focus on these 'evil' slot machines and subverting the masses), but that he's up against the decision makers who are in bed with the other casino chains.

If they could they would halve the number of tourney players on my site overnight...

I liked it when this guy was saying that he developed an intimate relationship with the fruit machine.  WTF- I never heard about this kind of fun before....

I switched on just as that analogy was developing, and thought about it for a while lol. wtf? It's like two halves of a coin, if you can imagine me stooped over the machine, and the machine, stooped over towards me, it's like we come together like the coin halves. Dood, them slots is for your *money*! Puggyphilia! Bleurgh!

I watched this and while some of the points about the impacts on the casinos was interesting and no doubt the industry has to take some form of responsibility for the problems with gambling addiction etc.

It appeared to me just another journalist who decided to take the line of gambling is bad and is going to ruin your childrens lives and look at what our government are doing about it. I mean the US decision to crack down on gambling is made out as the correct thing to do, no mention on the fact that the US is generally heading towards cutting all its citizen off of their civil liberties and gambling is just simply one of these.

Also do we have to put up with games of blackjack being played before every two minutes with big bust signs coming up, i mean took about propaganda.
