I installed a Bluetooth device onto my laptop. For some reason the device never installed properly. Under add/remove programs the blasted thing is still there #9even though I un-installed everything to do with the software and deleted the program folder from my computer). I click on change or remove programmes and nothing happens??? it just will not die!!!

Every time, I start up my laptop, it states: New hardware found, install for a place blah, blah blah etc...

I just want it to go away - help!

Have you tried a registry clean? That might get rid of anything lurking about where it shouldn't be.

I have used a few registry software programmes, but they are very dangerous and tbh I didn't know what I was doing.

I know, but I last time I used one of these programmes, I had to do a re-install of XP!

I use it all the time with no problems (on 3 pc's)

From memory, there is a problem with bluetooth on XP - cannot remember exactly what, but I think you need some sort of update/patch for windows

Just a simple thought, you have unplugged the bluetooth device havent you?!?
