Tipping UK casino staff will be allowed under new regime

Casino licensees may only permit tipping of employees where a ‘tronc’
system is operated (i.e. where tips are pooled and distributed between
staff).

lol this is one of the reasons they think that pokerbot system mentioned in Pokerplayer will catch on. No Dealer (so 50% more hand dealt an hour) and no need to tip anyone.

Didn't see Tikays post.

Under this system tournaments will be the main target for tips I think.  I hope that it won't be "mandatory" like the US.  Also if the money goes to all staff there will be no incentive for the poker dealers to improve their skills.

but you don't have to pay rake at the Gutshot anymore.

would it be legal if I set up Klub Kincaid where I charge £3 for a glass of coke, £5 for a beer and I take half of the dealers' tips but they get the first £20 per hour for themselves. No rake. I suppose that would mean cash games only, maybe I can hire out a table and a dealer if you wanna play a SNG or something.

That sounds better than 10% rake up to £10 or £25 or whatever some of these places charge, dealer should get £20+ an hour minimum if he's quick, I get lots of money from the food and drink. Everyone's happy right?

yes you do

in front of every player is a declaration to voluntarily donate to the house 5% of all pots won, up to a maximum of £10

if you don't sign it, the waitresses won't serve you

Will the dealer deal to you? Are you allowed to walk up the stairs and get your own beers in?

well, there has always been a rule that you can't order alcoholic drinks at the tables, so everyone has to get their own beers, regardless
