My match is starting to slip away.  I'm 184-0 and both openers are approaching their century but they have slowed to a snails pace req. run rate up to 6.40

we managed to tot up 156 runs from 36.5 over i would of liked to have batted longer but 3 wickets in the one over really screwed me up

the bowlers going for a little over 6 an over was also disapointing but apart from that i am quite happy with the score

and will have a few tricks up my sleeve for the return match

apart from the fact it will be after i GFI in a league match

Lost both openers in the 41st over with my trainee falling on 95 on his debut.  Need 49 off the last 7 overs.

I've been away for the weekend, and just got back to read about Jon and Elections.. huh? As flattered as I am that several of you are willing to support me in a campaign, there are a few reasons why I don't want to apply (sorry to dash your hopes)... I just don't have the free time to dedicate to it - I'm currently travelling to and from Germany every week to work, seem to be doing some silly hours recently, and just don't get much free time at the weekends... i also don't think i posess the tactical skills and knowledge of the game like others (bongo springs to mind). Sorry guys, but it would just be too much work for me to take on right now, but who knows about future elections....

On a happier note, I won my match on Friday, which is helping the get-out-of-the-relegation-spots-quickly cause... and fielded a team of reserves in today's friendly, and although they lost, they clocked up an impressive 257 runs against a div V team. Need to concentrate on winning next Friday's game - will be one of those crunch matches that could determine this season's fate!

I manage to get home with a couple of overs to spare.  Thought I was heading for the most frustrating defeat ever when my 2 openers were idling along.

I think bongo would be a good candidate, but he'd need more than just our 10 votes to get him elected! Having said that, the competition seems to be a couple of spotty teenage boys, and a couple of australians....

I don't think you can book a friendly until today's matches have all completed...

I think the serious candidates (Mat Sykes and Phil Fox) will post their election threads shortly and I think they'd be very tough to beat (as well as being by far the best candidates).

If neither of those 2 pop up then I'd be up for it as the rest really don't seem that good!

Don't quite know what happened in my game, but I'm not going to complain - just hope the bowlers do as well in my league game on Friday!  dont river me
