The problem with playing people when they are tired is that they never recover and just get worse.

I try to play people when they're energetic and above, but will stretch to invigorated if necessary.

Looks like i've got a season of losses ahead of me.
Promoted to a tough first class league
In 1 day league, team that pissed it didn't get promoted for some reason and a much better team has relegated into the league.

Am also having the now common feature of my team losing to teams they should be easily beating and my decent players all playing shite, despite having decent form and fitness.

Six weeks and no Battrick posts....have we all lost interest?

Anyway here's my season so far.....

Top of my OD Div V with 8/8 wins and promotion is pretty much there if I want it. But looking at some of those divisions I'll get hammered as I've only been playing two years  Roll Eyes

As first X1 are not fit enough to play FC & OD I'm likely relegated from FC VIII but might get out of it with best team playing.

BT20 is a formaility as I'm in a low VI vs bots and newbies.

Toying with putting effort into FC at expense of OD promotion especially since I have 4/5 trainees completing next season which might give me a chance of staying up in ODIV the following season.

Plays For: Matts Monkeys
Nationality: Australia
Age: 18 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 14,136 (+199)
Wages: £3,231 p/w

Stamina: competent  Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient     Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: strong         Consistency: woeful
Fielding: competent

not lost interest - just silently going about world domination! Cheesy

disappointed that managed to lose both one day games against the only other decent League V OD team, he couldn't get past my middle order and both times i took 9 wickets but he managed to sneak wins with less than an over to spare on both occasions. Unbeaten in First Class and BT so will win promotion in both and win promotion in OD next year

18 year old trainee above is now 19 but progressing nicely and next year may even get the odd game

Plays For:     Matts Monkeys
Nationality:    Australia
Age:    19 Years Old
Battrick Rating:    50,563 (+1199)
Wages:    £8,487 p/w
Stamina:    superb    Wicket Keeping:    feeble
Batting:    quality    Concentration:    proficient
Bowling:    remarkable    Consistency:    strong
Fielding:    strong

More interested in FTP tbh.

My team is still ticking along ok.

5/6 in FC, but it bores me
2/8 in OD with no chance of going up or down
8/12 in 20/20, can't go down unless one of 9th or 10th win massively twice.

Will finish 3rd in OD, would of had a chance to promote ut last seasons league winner stayed in same league for some reason.
Will stay up in FC
Will finish third in BT, should of won this but got caught out twice by 00:30 games and didn't pick a team in time

Have a 17yr old allrounder who will be a decent player by the time he's 19.

In League V i know there is a play-off system for the teams who win their league but are in the bottom half of the promotion table - i won my league last year but lost a game when i messed about with team selection to rest some of my best players but didn't reset my bowling orders resulting in two of my batsmen who are "worthless" bowlers taking the ball. This resulted in me having to take part in one off play off at the end of last season against a 7th place team in league IV, they absolutely wiped floor with my best team and having looked at the division they came from wouldn't have stood a chance Cheesy

Yeah, have noticed how strong div above me are. Might change approach and just sell my better players and grow a bank balance until I can buy a team

i got hammered in play off for div 4 last season
this year i will be lucky to get a play off in what is a tight div4

play offs are normally quite tough and if you do win you will struggle in div 4

if you get auto promotion your div 4 might be a little easier

I should promote in FC, hopefully won't in BT20 (2nd atm, beat first though) and hopefully avoid relegation in OD - looks like it will be a playoff though.

My best players are ending their training so fatigue isn't such a hassle right now.

Playing my first XI has meant a draw against league leaders and now victory, against team who were 2nd, in my last two games. Both hammered me by an innings first time round!
However still probably too much to do as I sadly only took 35 pts from first five games!   Roll Eyes

Need to organise some serious stamina training so my best, especially bowlers, can play more games.  What levels are you guys typically training stamina up to on a) batsmen and b) bowlers?

Interesting, have never got into how they do all the rankings for promotion/relegation....although I doubt fitness levels will allow me to auto promote now rather than playoff anyway.
