I'm guessing the chippies will end up in the middle.

I'd reraise to 200 here. No free cards on this flop.

I agree with the re-raise...he's probably hit the set or flopped the straight, but you need to find out.
If he re-raises, fold.
If he calls, you don't want to put any more money in here unless the turn is an Ace (preferably not the ) and even then you have to be very careful.

what if another non club danger card comes down? IOW 6 or 7. you can't give out free cards in a situation like this.

I re-raise.  Without any information on him, he could see your bet as a standard continuation bet, or he could have and overpair.

Of course, he could have a straight if he's called preflop with 76, or a flush draw (or a straight flush draw), or a set - but it depends on what sort of player he is.

I like the re-raise that Boldie suggested.  Although what you'd do if he then re-popped you all-in I'm not sure.

There not really free cards if he has a set, a str8 2 pr or more likely some sort of combo draw where he is happy to stick all the money in.  I did think about the 6 or 7 when I posted but just wanted to give a simple answer however wld prob chk and see what he bet.

I suppose the main debate here is whether it's better to stick the money in on these kind of flops or wait for a safeish turn.  I suppose that we should work out the possible holdings - where a read of some kind would be helpful i.e. if this is a fairly tight player the possibility of an overpair or AcKc/Qc goes way up unfortunately so does the set possibility.  A looser player could also have a set, but the drawing hands are a strong possibility

hmm the problem with that is that the bet isn't big enough for him to fold not matter what cards he has.

What was the turn?

ok so I take it your chips went in the middle when that 9 came? Your raise on the flop was too small for him to fold anything...the 9 can not have helped him (unless it made his two pair..) so now is the time to decide to let him take the pot or whether you want it. My chips would be in the middle here.

the pot is big enough. so it's all in time for me.

i never raised the flop?

I meant re-raise you said you called the 80 and then stuck an extra 85$ in. I read that as a re-raise, or did I read that wrong?
