Thats not true, because the other casino locally does have poker. I was talking to the managers there and they had considered it, but definately won't because of the reasons I have already mentioned.

I'm just going off what we were told when we were there for the first WPT event there that John Gale won - if they've changed it since then i don't know but thats what we were told when we were over there 2 years ago.

I've been twice in the last 18 months. 18 months ago they were debating it, I got the last answer a couple of weeks ago not from a floor man but one of the managers. Its all down to the money, they make more from other games and just don't want it. I would love a big card room in the new manchester casino to open the options, but we cartainly can't assume there will be poker there.

Having said all that, they still have to allow other casino operaters to put in a bid to run the place, but as the current guys have already worked with the city of manchester on their bid I'd say they are front runners at the moment.
