Having played and worked at things like EPTs and WSOP, I appreciate the VERY hard work put in by bloggers (your super Blonde team, for example) to bring you all the news as it happens. When I'm blogging I do it for PokerStars and there is always a nice atmosphere between the writers of various sites - Blonde/PokerStars/Gutshot all the Scandie bloggers (millions of 'em) etc. If anyone ever needs a hand/help, he gets it, and if you need to "take" a bit from one of their sites in an emergency, that's fine and you are happy for them to do the same.

But it seems this pleasant working relationship is not happening in the States. Here's a video of Card Player bloggers accusing Bluff bloggers of wholesale copying. Maybe it's a wind-up, but I get the impression they are serious, in which case haven't they got better things to worry about? Or is there a bit of a "war" developing between Card Player and Bluff that I am unaware of? Could be tin hats when we go to the WSOP this summer!

doesn't matter...If there were to be a war Blonde would destroy all before them. One look at Snoops pink trainers would have all other updaters running for cover...and they can't go to the couch as jenn would be sleeping on it Smiley

I'm actually not sure that footage is real, there's no copying and pasting going on in the vid (that i could see anyway). Not saying it didn't happen but it's quite possible that footage is shot by cardplayer specifically to back up their cliam - you never really get a look at the fella who's doing the alleged larceny.

The atmosphere at this year's WSOP was already a bit Them and Us - we were given different coloured press badges and certain times and areas (including all of the main event when it got past day 4) were restricted.  "Green means go, Red means no," we were told, frequently (guess which colour the non-Card Player guys were).  If certain blogs are looking for, and getting, exclusive coverage, it's a pity for all countries whose players they don't cover (did you see any John Magill or Richard Gryko at the WSOP last ten tables?)... I think they should do the totally comprehensive job they've got access for, and if they don't, allow the little guys like us to do our job in rotation.  I for one found their attitude rather superior and inflexible, and won't be covering events in the future to which we can't gain proper access.

Quite apart from that, I don't condone copying, in fact it annoys me greatly when information we've worked hard to procure is simply nicked with no name check or anything.  If that's happened, they have every right to complain.  Having said that, I like the communal press atmosphere at the EPT etc.  Always good fun.

The security guards were proper little hitlers at this years WSOP. Having arrived 10 minutes late for one of my events I was refused entry the arena as the event had started and it was players only, the fact I had my seat draw card didn't cut it and he just wouldn't have it that I was running late and I am missing hands by arguing with him. I eventually had to barge past him (dangerous as they are all armed in true little Hitler style) in a very diplomatic way cough cough, I think if I had been near a table I may have got several F-Bomb penalties.

The fact you guys weren't allowed to report properly was disgraceful and you should boycot events that don't allow you proper access as you are simply wasting your time. The card player reports are absolute garbage unless you're a big name American player you don't get a look in. At last weeks WPT in Borgota Dave Clayton (Rayvon) was sat 6th overnight with about 130k in chips but didn't even appear on the chip count list. When he got AA cracked by KK for the chip lead on day 2 it wasn't even reported.

I read a report about one of the Card Player 'reporters' at the last WSOP asking a player 'what's your name?'

'Johnny Chan', was the reply.
