Surprisingly he has been excellent recently.

It should be a great 'Friendly' as last time there was plenty of hostility between both sets of players.

Im not saying Hargreaves isnt a class player (as u united fan id really love to see him join us in the summer)  but my point was he hasnt played any football at all this season and the midfielders i mentioned are playing some superb stuff and dont get a sniff of a cap (Or atleast a squad place)

True, but some form horses have been included such as Barry (7(?) goals) and Barton (6 goals).

Which is obviously a step forward, But why still include players that are clearly not England standard (Jenas & P Neville) and ignore very good inform players like Nolan & Sidwell?

IMO Barton is a far superior player than Barry.

Barry hasn't not played for England for 7 years Roll Eyes

average squad but probably the right squad

the problem is we have a few very good / world class players - Ferdinand, Terry, Gerrard, Rooney, Owen (if ever fit) maybe Lampard and maybe Ashley Cole (tho hasnt had a convincing season at Chelsea).

However after that its just a bunch of very average players.

My biggest worry is theres no flair, skill or pace in the England team any more (other than Lennon).  I think our midfield is very workmanlike but there isnt that flair that all the other countries have.

Maybe its because the Premiership has too many foreigners and is too greedy but even the under 21's squad doesnt look great for the future - as good a player as David Nugent is, will he really be a Shearer or Linekar.  Wheres the striker of tomorow?

And dont get me started on the manager.  Average squads need world class gifted managers, even if they are not English.  I wish Wenger could take charge of that squad and see what he could do with it.  Maccarone maybe a bit bitter but most of what he said about MCLaren in the papers today i tend to agree with.  Do you guys really believe that this is the man that will put the passion, flair, and winning attitude into the England squad coz i certainly do not

Nem dont believe the hype

Messi, Kaka, Henry, C. Ronaldo, to name but a few are world class - Joe Cole is very good but world class, definitely not yet and who knows if he ever will be.

Ledley Kng - again very good but not world class.  Tho would help if he stayed fit during a season.  Out of curiosity can you tell me how many Spurs games he has played the last 3 season?  He seems to have a period out most seasons. Didnt he miss the back end of last season and the World Cup?

Centre Backs is an area where we are very strong - with King, Dawson, Terry, Ferdinand, Woodgate, even Campbell looks to be playing well.  Problem is they still look vulnerable at set pieces (all through the World Cup).

Joe Cole is England's Ronaldinho!

Sad to say that The King looks injury prone and the poor fella needs a good rest. It look like that C.Davies would be the answer, but with Gardner performing so well against Panicbuyor, I honestly feel we should stick with him.

The ref was a disgrace in that match. Keane was moaning a lot, so every foul made against him was ignored.

Terrible ref.

Howard Webb and Graham Poll.

Urinal Rennie has to be the worst - by far. Remember when he tried to make a name for himself, sending off Shearer for backing into Taylor of Villa in the last game of the season, a few seasons back. The tool got relegated to the Championship after that f-up. Cheesy

yeah lol that was funny!  still managed to get back to the premiership.  What about this season when he booked Martins for getting the ball back but coudnt find his card!

even forgetting the World Cup, Poll still makes mistakes - but make no mistake, he is the ONLY ref that can handle big games.

These games are far too big for all the other refs - especially Riley.  They all lose control.  Only Poll has the balls to deal with it.

Too many bad refs at the moment
