What hand do you put him on? I have him on a queen, meself, or possibly ace low kicker. I think he raises me on the turn with a better hand.

Should I have given up here or, if you're going to run a needless bluff like me (I just wanted to have fun Smiley), should I fire another bullet? I have no information on this guy at all and it's the second hand of a small multi.

Or he could be on JT, I suppose. I really am never going to be any good at this game.

You keep limping with K9 in early position then to be honest I dont hold much hope Wink

give it up on the river so check fold for me...he will call any bet you make unless he is on a draw. If you reraisewith bottom pair you have to raise more on the flop.

BTW... the blinds are way too low to even bother playing K9.

Pot it unless he can't fold A-6 on that board, although i would have folded on the flop (and preflop but you said you got there by mistake).

The more I look at this hand, the more I'm convinced he can't call this unless he's hit two pair, trips or has ace with high kicker.

1. Rule out ace high kicker - surely a raise pre flop and/or a further raise on flop or turn?
2. Two pair a possibility but AQ not likely given pre flop limp. A9 more likely. If he's stupid like me, he might have called with Q9 Smiley
3. Trips a possibility but surely he's not going to slow play AA and QQ pre flop like that with three limpers already in.
4. He may have ace low kicker, or he may have something like KQ and is hoping to see the river for free.

So. I have him on a possible two pair or trip , ace with a low kicker, queen, or a draw. I think the latter three are far more likely than the first two.

I think pushing may be acceptable here (given that I only have slightly more than the pot).

Is there any flaw with my reasoning above? If there's anything glaring please do tell me, if I can get my post-hand rationalisation sorted then I might be able to do it at speed soon!

So you have him on wide range of hands and you really honestly think he might fold here?

You limped, so no way he will give you credit for any good hand.  Do you honestly think he will fold to your push?
If yes you push, if not you fold.

I think it's more likely from his point of view that I limped in with a decent hand than it is that he limped in with a decent hand from my point of view, if you see what I mean. First to enter the pot, could have been hoping for a raise behind me etc.

In his shoes, I'm probably only calling a push with two pair, trips, or ace with at least a ten, and probably not even then. And I think these are unlikely holdings.

From his point of view I'm either running a bluff or I've got a big hand. I'm not sure I'd call for all my chips to find out if I had a marginal hand.

I think the point where you decided to push him off of the pot came on the flop. You have built the pot so now is the time to take it down. If he can't be pushed off of the hand then you should have folded on the flop. Of course he may have improved during the hand but he hasn't really shown a great deal of strength throughout.
