I figured I could fold this and still have plenty of play, but i if i played the hand might well go broke. i was thinking 45 or 55. was i just seeing monsters in the bushes?

I don't like the fold. you ask if he has 55 (I am assuming you're thinking 56 for the straight) I don't like it. I would call in about 99% of these situations myself.

Yeah you might have plenty of play left but when do you think you'll get trips again?

It's a call for me.

Im calling this you are beating all overpairs, he could well have 55-99 here or some donk slowplaying aa-qq. You also beat alot of 4's this is more than enough hands to make this call.

Also why is 55 a worry unless full tilt have introduced 4 card str8's since i last played there.

Woopsy! Just realized that 55 wasn't a str8. boy i'm fish! coulda had all his chips, woulda insta-called if i hadn't misread the board.

I place a very big bet on that flop, or even better check raise it, straight/flush draw combos generally bet it fearing overcards drawing to hit for cheap. I do this to avoid this turn situation, which I hate being in, especially in a freezeout. A check-raise shouts 'trips', but better that than entanglement at this stage. If he's good, he can put you on trips and represent the straight on the turn with maybe decent outs that can put you out anyway. No likey. If he wants to draw with 56, diamonds, or even 55 from the flop, that's fine, but he can pay for it there and then.
