I saw Coventry at the weekend, losing 3-0 to my team Leicester

He has a hell of a job on here, the team has little talent and needs significant investment to get to the business end of the division (much like Leicester, at least we have a chairman who might do this now).

Dowie spoke to Mandaric about taking over at Leicester but I hear that Mandaric was ultimately put off by Dowie's reputation as being "difficult"

Dowie will be up for it, did well at Oldham and Palace to start with but does tend to piss off his players and chairmen. You'll know reasonaly quickly whether this is likely to work in my opinion

I didn't realise you were a Leicester fan TE. I went on Saturday too. Coventry were absolutelty shocking and we left after 70 minutes - the first time that I can ever recall doing so and I usually berate others for doing the same.

I realise it was a local derby game, but I was exceptionally disappointed with the heavy handed policing policy. I was searched not only before entering the ground, but also when I had initially got off the train. I was subjected to having a form completed to list that I was carrying such dangerous weapons as a pair of gloves, wooly hat and pack of cards. For this he required, name address, DOB etc. It certainly seemed ott for someone whose only ever brush with the law is for a speeding offence (albeit that 'speeders' are public enemy number one! Sad ). We then had a different line to go through where you stand still and a sniffer dog gets within mm of you to sniff out drugs. Obviously I didn't have any, but I was exceptionally concerned for my wedding tackle!

Regards Dowie, I think its a great appointment. Certainly better than some of the candidates linked (Hoddle, Robson, Souness, Blackwell, Megson, Wotrthington, Kelly, Heath, O'Leary). All have failed and many with cash to spare. I don't think 12 games at Charlton who were in the QF of the cup was a fair crack of the whip for him and I am hopeful. If the Premiership is a managerial step too far, then I don't care as I would be more than happy to make it for just one season and take the cash before being relegated. He has also hopefully learnt from mistakes and at 42 is relatively young for a manager. With where the club currently are, they were unlikely to attract Wenger and I have faith Smiley

I personally am delighted that dowie wont be coming to Leicester. He has a lot to prove after Charlton, how much did he pay for Traore?? lol.
IMO you could have found plenty of managers who would have done a better job lurking in the lower leagues.
Dowie said on the radio the plan was to get Cov in the prem in 2 years!!!! I nearly crashed my car!!
It sounds like you were subjected to a section 60 at Leicester station. An absolute disgrace.Typical heavy handed policing.

I agree Rob, I think its a very good appointment.  By all accounts he has a job on his hands but then it was a similar scenario when he took over at Palace.  His track record in the Championship is good and he will have a point to prove after his treatment at Charlton.

According to quite a few he's not the Messiah he's a very naughty boy.  Grin
