have just defragmented and done that thing rich suggested with the start up so will restart and see if it has made a difference.

Also, download either ATF Cleaner or CCleaner to get rid of your temp files.

are they free? And also it is also slow to boot up, on that msconfig there is also a boot.ini section which allows you to alter boot timeout. How can i get it quicker to load up??? Im reading this back and i sound like a total retard!

And also nem i have norton anti virus load up whe i boot up which then comes up with a green tick to say everytthing is ok! Can i get rid of this from my taskbar or will it muck up my AV protection?  ?
