i am thinking of going to play in the irish tourny in the granite city's international casino tomorrow night

but i have never played the game and all i know is you get dealt 3 or 4 cards and have to discard 1 or 2 on either the flop or the flop and turn all depends on the local rules

i have play a little omaha online so know the basics of multi card flop games

ie 789Tds is a hand that can see a flop cheap but a hand like AAJTds is a monster

what i want to know is how do define an irish hand

would a hand like 789Tds be a good starting hand as when it comes to discards you are limting your draws and thus ruining your hand

would hands like AK67 play better as when it comes to a discard your choices are simple you eitther keep your 2 pair or your straight draw or your flush draw etc etc your not deciding between your made 2 pair or your draw

any tips would be great

Looks like you didn't need any tips. Grin

Seriously though. I cannot remember seeing any books on Irish. I saw some on "pineapple" last time I was in Las Vegas, but I'm not sure if this is the same game and I rarely play it (Irish) in our local Dealers Choice cash game.

Anyone else know any tips as it was getting called more regularly on my last visit to the Gala and i basically just folded unless I hit a big flop.
