"Send Reinforcements, we are going to advance.........."

....was allegedly a message sent from the front line toops in World War One. After going through a dozen lines of communication, the same message arrived at it's destination as "send three & fourpence, we are going to a dance".

And THAT's what happened last night on Poker 425.

We "reconsructed" the last hand of the Final, between young Andy Church & the wily Stuart Nash.

We showed Stuart's hand as QQ. In fact, his REAL hand was 2-Q. One's imagination does not need to be too stretched to imagine how THAT conversation got so fogged up, eh?

"Gallery to Studio - He had 2-Q".

"Studio to Gallery - 2 Queens, righty ho".......

And we DID debate, in the studio, whether it was QQ or 2Q, but I won't tell who said what 'cos we are a team, & must accept collective responsibility.

But I can confide that one of the TV crew said "surely, the man would never move in with 2-Q?". And there were looks of disbelief when I said - "you jest - you never watched that Thewy, eh?"......I mean, Thewy SLOW PLAYS Q-2........

Not Poker related .... But in The Falklands as the column advanced the message came in as "Air Raid Red " indicating imminent air attack the column passed the message back and the front were surprised to see the back of the column dancing whilst they lay on the gound Chinese whispers had translated the message to "Galltieries Dead"  ......
