Just a quick update on poker coaching.
Had one session before Christmas but for various reasons was unable to have another until last week. I have learnt how to get in to 'the zone' (or the place right for me) quicker and better and how to block distractions so I can concentrate better. I am a nosy cow and am always watching other things going on in the poker room etc etc.

I have also learnt some patience, after a couple of good results last year I started to play too aggressive and loose and wasn't winning anything. In Vegas in January I don't think I won a hand and I lost a lot of hands and money - not good.

Anyway first game after second session was at Luton last week in £75 F/o - got down to last 2 tables which on recent results is fantastic. I was able to focus/read my opponents and really felt much more in control at the table, most importantly I was able to to take chips off Mr Martin and tilt him so it was a great comp  Grin

On Sunday I played at Southend and again finished on last 2 tables, I played well with no cards to speak of and although no cash i was pleased with the improvement.

Tonight I played on line and won a sattelite to the Mansion $100k. Still in after 18 minutes..........

Up sides of the process - more relaxed at the table, more focused, inwardly calm.
Down sides - not sure yet - £150 lighter but we'll see if that pays off in the short/med/long run. Not expecting miracles - it's just nice to have regained a bit of sanity and calmness to my brain.

On the one occasion we shared a table for longer than a few hands this year I found it quite remarkable how distracted and impatient you were.

Mind you on the other occasion I had a face like a smacked haddock, so we can call it a draw then.

Good luck with the re-focussing!

Very focused - no more slots for me - only playing poker or going home. How focused is that?! Ship it to me  Grin
PS - smacked haddock - more of an arse......

Interested to see how you get on with this.

I won a Poker Player comp a month or so ago and won a poker hypno cd that concentrates on getting to the final table.  Sadly, I haven't listened to it yet, but I'll try and listen to it soon

Look into my eyes. Look into my eyes. The eyes. The eyes. Not around the eyes. Don't look around my eyes. Look into my eyes... You're under.

Every time you are dealt aces playing live, you will take all your clothes off and dance on the table.

3-2-1, you're back in the room.

I must admit i did make him promise he wouldn't make me cluck like a chicken everytime I had a good hand.

If hypnotism really worked like that my boyfriend would have invested a long time ago - must be cheaper than rohypnol!

i start my qualifications in Hypnotherpy in june and will take me 18 months with 110 hrs of clinical practice min a year.

I find the hypnotising people to concentrate for poker / get in the zone an interesting subject, i think that the results would be slightly poor unless the therypist understood what and how you need to focus and what on for poker.

btw the kenny craig stuff could work, go on to utube and look up rapid inductions, once you know how they work they can give even a begineer like me some amazing results.

for focus you would only raelly need one session, is this person a hypnotherypist, or a neuro lingustic programer/ life coach.

I would like to try some stuff over msn with some willing victims............er subjects.
