Cheltenham Festival Day One (Tuesday) Tips

My best bet of the entire meeting runs in the Arkle 'chase, 2.35pm.: Fair Along.
This destroyed the 2nd favourite My Way de Solzen at Sandown despite hanging left all the way around.
My advice is to fill one's boots. Anything over 3/1 is terrific value IMO.

Im on Ammereto Rose at 55 and 12,if that wins im going to hammer Dont Push It in the arkle,im hoping the front runners cut each others throats and set it up for Mccoy,i backed Buena Vista ages ago but cant see it being good enough now.
I think the Champion Hurdle is between Brave Inca and Detroit City and i will be going for a small bet on Brave|Inca.

I've laid Amaretto Rose in the Novice Hurdle and hope Silverburn gets me off to a flyer in that. (20-1 on betfair IO got 40's on betdaq). Non runner no bet so no worries there and it 's an amazing price if Mr Nicholls decides to go for this.

other bets I have for day one.
Arkle I'm on Twist Magic EW and have covered myself with Fair along.
For the Will Hill, Heltornic @14-1
Sporting index I dare anyone to go against Spotthedifference again. I love this horse.
And the Fred winter I'm on Gaspara thanks to, if he wins, my best friend in the world Horneris. I already l;aid him off now that he's soo short but kept a few £ at 16's and he's in most of my accies for Cheltenham.

p.s. Racingpost.co.uk will show all the form video's of all runners at cheltenham for free. So if you are reading form on there already yuo can now also watch the last few races your fancies have run.
Ussually it's 20p a race (10p a finish) but it's well worth signing up for if you're not yet a subscriber (signing up to Racingpost is free online)

1st Race: Supreme Novices: Don't really fancy anything against the favourite yet so that usually means no bet for me. Im on De Valira at 9-1 at small stakes for some interest and value.
2nd Race: Arkle: Again, don't fancy much yet, on Twist Magic at 25s but again that was just for the value as can now lay it off at 14s or lower.
3rd Race: Champion Hurdle: Can someone please put me off bacing Detroit City. This horse has bags and bags of pace and with Jonno on board will not be found wanting. Should get the better of Hardy pace wise in the final stages.
4th Race: Willhill: Filled my boots on Heltornic at 14s each way.
5th Race: SI Index: Bit of interest in Star Performance at 9-1. Also had it with a double with Detroit City.
6th Race: Fred Winter: Everyone knows im on big on Gaspara at 16s. So ill be dancing round the streets of Sheffield if that wins. I make £800 if it wins, and £35 if it loses. I wish every bet was this simple. WIN. ONE TIME PIPE.
These are all antepost bets
. Havent even studied the form big time yet. Will probably add a few more late tonight, or early tomorrow morning.

Well we certainly seem to be roughly on the same track for tomorrow. I certainly wouldn't lump on Detroit city though. Old Hardy Eustace and Brave inca are still the ones to beat. I have been on hardy ante post for a while now and am not even considering laying it off.
Detroit city might win the race (you never know, stranger things have happened) but his price is way too short for such a competitive event.

I personally cant even imagine detroit winning
It comes off the bridle very easily, and in a real scrap with horses coming at it I am not sure it will rally. It beat Straw Bear by only 2 lengths recently, and although the trainer put up some excuses I am not so sure.
For me its not a lay, cos I think it will be off 3/1 on the day - but I am sterring clear of it

Cant have Fair Along here myself.
Wont like the ground that much, and the race wont be run to suit at all.
Watch the open forum on tomorrows big 3 races with Segal, Willoughby, Williams, free to watch on the racing post website. It runs with windows media player. They give it no chance.
I might well be wrong. I have been before.

Racing is all about opinions, all will be revealed tomorrow.
I too fancy Detroit City strongly, that Irish rabble have been bossing the CH for too long now.
I also agree that it will be a drifter tomorrow but 3/1 would be irrefusable for me.
I've also had a small saver on Iktitaf @20/1 as it appears like the only unexposed horse in the race.

btw for those who want to watch it online bet 5£ with bet365 and you can watch all cheltenham races live (don;'t know if that's for the day only though)
btw they also add 10% to the placepot if you get it right
