Internet Poker since US ban.

It's been 5 months since the attempted US ban on Internet poker, how do you think it's affected the market?
Do you feel games are tougher now? Whats changed in your opinion.
With rumours of sites merging is it going to lead to less choice for the serious internet player?
How do you feel Internet Poker will change within the next twelve months?

I live in the US now and it's not affected me significantly.
I had to leave Party which had very soft cash tables. I now play Full Tilt, which is a little tougher but the rake back makes up for that.
Neteller have been a pain in the arse though for US players who are not able to withdraw their funds. I've changed my account from my US details to my UK details but they don't make that too easy.
Basically it's a losing battle that the US government are fighting IMO and, although there will probably be more inconveniences along the way, I don't see there being a problem long-term.

I think the games have got tougher, the mid-high stakes cash anyway.
Most of the tournament players seem to have consolidated onto stars and full tilt, making the fields bigger and the good players edge less and increasing variance, one of the reasons ive started playin cash almost exclusively.
I think there are still unexploited areas that the online sites will look to get into, i thnk party have done this pretty well since closing out the US, and look to be on the recovery trial.
I wouldnt like the speculate what the future holds, just a case of wait and see IMO

I think the games are tougher for sure. I've had to do a lot of tweeking to my game, I must have just relied on getting money off the fish making big mistakes before. Used to see stupid players running 60/30 or similar all the time. don't see that much anymore.

The games are tougher no doubt, I am staying away from Full Tilt and Stars the games there have definitley become very strong. As Pab mentions party are showing the way forward and have started tapping up other markets, the number of Germans on party now is remarkable.

Cash games on Stars at my level are a lot tougher, there's still donkeys there, but there's a lot of 'better than me' guys playing at my level that must have flagged me as a fish by now.
I too have to stay away from cash games on Stars.
Well, I do now anyway!

The thing I found weird in Vegas last week was picking up the free poker magazines in the cardrooms (Card Player, Poker Pro, etc) and seeing that Party, Doyles Room, etc are still advertising there, despite banning US players.
Methinks they had a lot of prepaid advertising!!!

The Party Poker TV commercials have only just stopped being aired too.

I have found the Mtts tougher on Stars.
I still find the Stts ok though.
I still think the cash games are fishy on Party. Many very bad Canadians + Germans + French.

i love the mtt's on stars the cash games at my level arent too bad, often a matter of doing a lot of waiting around. i still love willhill though, it doesnt have a massive player base but the games are always good. i used to love the old interface, but the willhill team are starting make the tables look more and more like the standard stars ones other than the colours.

And the reason why is because Obama is a poker player, but kept it quiet all the way through the campaign.

Many knew he played, but none are sure how he'll handle the ban G.W.'s crew put into place.
