Nowt wrong with any of those ded guys

Hicks

Pryor

Allen

All great in their heyday.

But I also have to put in a vote for Robin Williams.  A genius in his youth.  One seriously crap overactor who's earned bazillions just by being crap.  But he can still do it stand up stylee.

saw gervais last week and it was a bit disappointing.

All others i agree with especially bill hicks and bill bailey.

'Heavens, Have a plum', 'i don't want a plum'

'the pale mythical wardens of the treasure'

genius, have been saying everything like Bill Bailey for a couple of years now.

young mr bailey is funny.

i was rather surprised Rich Hall wasn't on the l;ist...I have tickets to go see him in Glasgow on the 24th and can't wait!

Also for Richard Pryor..listen to the records they are better than the video's (and even they kick Bill Hick's arse)

Also Lewis Black is a very very funny man (and was doing the Bill Hicks thing before your MR Hicks was doing it)

who was that obnoxious american who was on the list ? The guy who told the "adult" nursery rhymes. he was truly dreadful.

Tommy Cooper.  Pretty much a one-trick pony, but an original and one of those people who's just funny.

As for the Big Yin, some of his stand up shows are brilliant.  I have laughed so much during one of his shows that it hurt.

Best 3 I have seen;

1) Noble - Brilliant, delivery, thought process has it all for me his mass appeal from the yoot to Radio 4 listeners says it all.

2) Arthur Smith, he hosts the comedy tent at glasto year after year and is simply brilliant, he is funny hour after hour, excellent observational humour.

3) Daniel Kitson, just go and see him, a modern master.

Special mention for Jakie Mason, Steven Wright, Pryor (If only I had seen him), Dylan Moran and Vegas all brilliant for various reasons.

Have to say think Davidson came across as a bitter old man on the show, very sad.
