Glad to hear the bank of england putting plenty of word out advising people of the change.

Would have saved me 20 minutes in Tesco's when i got given one when i asked for cash back and thinking the till girl was trying to palm me off with Mickey Mouse monopoly money!! Cheesy

Boring odds and probabilities factoid #354:
Tossing a coin is not 5050 heads/tails. It is more likely to land tails due to overweighting on the head side. In recent years, more weight was added to her Maj's face, making tails even more likely. Next time someone asks, say tails.

I now have one new £20 note less than I did when i posted this thread .... NO.1 son comes in ....

Me "have you seen the new £20 notes yet mate " ?

Him "No, lets have a look"

Me "crispy and brand new from the cashpoint" I say as i hand one over for him to look at.

Him "Now I have got it, can i keep it til payday"

Me  "FFS thats £60 you owe me on payday now !!"

Him "thanks Dad, you are the greatest"

Man that was an effing schoolboy error from me !!!

It's not just at the table where you give money away then?

Didn't seem that long ago when the old new £20 was brought in. Anyone remember how long ago that was?

I only see a dozen or so £1 notes a year now.

Much more abundant in Glasgow than Aberdeen. (maybe coz we don't want to part with them up there, convinced they will be worth £1.50 one day)
