I think the double chips is a huge improvement, and as M3Boy says, it means more play at the poker table so less time for the punters to be in the casino.

Harrah's made a lot of mistakes last year, so fair play to them for learning this year.

I played in the £2000 NLHE event last year and it was a real blow only to be given 2000 chips. The second hand in I had two pair to matey boys trip 2's on the flop and somehow managed to get away from the hand without losing all my chips. Still, I was so shortstacked taht the only move left to me was all-in, which is pretty heart breaking for your first WSOP event.
Well done to WSOP for doubling those starting chips!!!!!!

The thing about wsop events is the structure is brilliant when you get down to the money... the fields are so big they have to lose players quickly. 1000 chips for a $1000 tournie was fine IMO.

Are they going to do anything about the ITIN number fiasco?

While on the subject of the smaller WSOP events, $1000-$2000. Do any sites offer satellites to these events instead of the main event?
